Chapter Twelve
The next few days flew by for Julia. She and Bodi went on runs each morning on the beach and then she worked with Adelaide and her brotherâs marketing agency to flesh out details and set everything up while Bodi worried and plotted out all the other details such as the airstrip, internet, medical supplies, additional staff to spoil their guests, etc. Most things they couldnât start crews working on until they got the peopleâs approval, but at least theyâd be ready.
The king sent out a message to the Magnites that a big announcement would be made Saturday at noon when most people were gathered for market day. After that, she and Adelaide would start booking nightâs stays and tour packages and Bodi could implement his ideas and get crews working. The influx of money would be immediate and only increase as tourists started arriving with low overhead for Magna. Julia was thrilled.
Things were good between her and Bodi. They talked, teased, flirted, and exchanged looks that heated her up, but there was still a distance because, to her knowledge, he hadnât found or talked to Grace yet. When they took the time on Thursday afternoon to take pictures of the charming town, they stopped by the medical clinic. A nurse and older doctor were there and Bodi asked if they had any idea when Grace was returning. They said hopefully by Saturday.
Adelaide had shot a glance at Julia as they left. Bodiâs sister obviously sensed that she and Bodi shared a mutual attraction. It was somewhat comforting that Grace was gone, off doctoring somewhere, because it explained why Bodi hadnât talked to her. It wasnât that he was stringing Julia along.
Julia had met each member of the royal family at different points throughout the week. They were all cordial, but some were more welcoming than others. Darian was over the top friendly until Bodi threatened to thrash him if he didnât stop flirting with Julia. Adelaide and Darian had thought that was hilarious. Julia bade Darian goodbye and focused on her work, not sure if she loved that Bodi was obviously jealous. He wasnât free to pursue her so why couldnât she flirt with his cousin? The computer blurred. The problem was her heart was already tied up with Bodiâs.
By Friday afternoon she, Bodi, and Adelaide were exhausted, but everything was in place for tomorrowâs announcement. By tomorrow evening, they should be able to get their packages uploaded to travel sites and online for travel agents to book. Grace would also be back tomorrow. Would Bodi talk to her? Julia glanced up at him. His dark gaze was concentrated on her as it often was. It sent tremors of awareness through her until she felt like her fingertips were zinging.
Adelaide stood and stretched. âI need to go get dressed for dinner,â she said. âIâll see you both there?â
Throughout the week, someone had either delivered meals to them in the library or Julia had eaten at her cottage while Bodi had dinner with his family.
